Jason Altmire, D-4th, will hold a live telephone town hall at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday in conjunction with the start of the second session of the 112th Congress.At the event, Altmire will discuss issues with participants as the House of Representatives begins the new year.In December, more than 10,000 Western Pennsylvanians joined a similar telephone town hall with Altmire.Interested participants can register online under the “Services” tab on Altmire’s website at altmire.house.gov or by calling his office at 202-225-2565.This past week Altmire received the Carl E. Jones Champion for American Producers Award from the Coalition for a Prosperous America.He was given the award at a presentation at the Cranberry Township Municipal Center.The award is named for the late Butler County business leader Carl Jones, who founded the high-tech company Penn United Technologies in Jefferson Township.Penn United’s Dave Frengel, chairman of the Pennsylvanian chapter of the coalition, said Altmire was chosen for the award based on his “congressional trade grade,” the evaluation the coalition assigns elected officials based on their votes and actions regarding manufacturing policies.“Mr. Altmire’s trade grade is 100 percent,” Frengel said.
