Alice Jordan

Alice E. (Garing) Jordan, 95, of Zelienople passed away Monday while under the care of the Passavant Retirement Community.

Born Jan. 23, 1917, in Ellwood City, she was the daughter of the late George and Alice (Hofmann) Garing.

Alice spent her early years growing up on a farm near Evans City. She married James Edward Jordan on June 14, 1941, and throughout their married life they enjoyed traveling from place to place across the United States.

They settled down at a cottage in the Passavant Retirement Community in 1977, and she remained there until her husband passed away in 2002.

She is survived by a daughter, Sylvia Jordan of Milwaukee, Wis.; a son, David J. Jordan and his wife Sandra, of Vestal, N.Y.; and her grandson, David James Jordan Jr.

Alice was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 61 years, James Edward Jordan, who passed away Oct. 31, 2002, and several brothers and sisters.

JORDAN— The Jordan family will welcome the friends of Alice E. Jordan, who passed away Monday, Dec. 17, 2012, at the Seaman Memorial Chapel at PASSAVANT RETIREMENT COMMUNITY from 9:30 a.m. Monday until the time of the funeral service at 10:30 a.m. The Rev. Wilfred Goetze will officiate.She will be laid to rest privately at the English Lutheran Church Cemetery in Zelienople.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Alice's honor in support of the Passavant Retirement Community Benevolent Fund, 401 S.
