Glenn A. Walker
Glenn A. Walker, 89 of Saxonburg passed away on Saturday at Allegheny General Hospital.
Born Feb. 23, 1922, in Clinton Township, he was the son of Alonza Eugene and Emma Fleming Walker.
Glenn was a 1942 graduate of Butler High School. He was a proud U.S. Army veteran of World War II, where he served during Normandy.
Glenn worked as an electrician for construction companies.
He was a member of Victory Lodge 694, American Legion Post 683, VFW Post 7376, and the Saxonburg Golden Agers. He also was a 32nd degree Mason of the Scottish Rite Cathedral in New Castle. Glenn was a member of the Westminster PCA Church in Butler, where he was deacon emeritus and participated in Habitat for Humanity. He enjoyed going to Seneca Hills as a volunteer.
Glenn was an avid bowler and enjoyed fishing, hunting and fixing things. He enjoyed socializing and meeting new people.
Surviving are his loving wife, Shirley (Patten) Walker, whom he married July 6, 1949; his daughters, Glenna Marie (Tim) Walters of Saxonburg, Sharon Ann Walker of Saxonburg, and Karen Kay Walker of Allison Park; his son, Eugene William Walker of Saxonburg, and his nephew, Gary A. (Judy) Walker of Fenelton.He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Irene Steighner, and one brother, Elvin C. Walker
<B>WALKER</B> — Friends of Glenn A. Walker, who died Saturday, Nov. 17, 2011, will be received from noon to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the <B>Fox Funeral Home</B>, 410 W. Main St., Saxonburg. American Legion Post 683 and VFW Post 7376 will conduct a service at 3 p.m. at the funeral home. Victory Lodge 694 will conduct a Masonic service at 6 p.m. at the funeral home.Additional visitation will be Wednesday from 10 a.m. until the time of the services at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Walt Coppersmith, Rev. Daniel Ledford, Rev. Ed Cadwallder, and Mr. Ed Wehr officiating.Interment with full military honors will follow in the Summit United Presbyterian Church Cemetery.Memorial donations may be made to the Westminster PCA, 420 N.
