William Goughler
William Bruce Goughler, 70, of Emlenton died at 11:20 p.m. Sunday at the VNA Inpatient Hospital in Butler following a lengthy illness.
Mr. Goughler was born in St. Petersburg, Clarion County, on March 12, 1942. He was the son of Charles Edward and Florence Bell Boyd Gallagher.
He was a 1959 graduate of Emlenton High School. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, where he had served as a military policeman.
He was a member of the Emlenton Presbyterian Church. He enjoyed fixing things while tinkering around his house and shed.
He especially enjoyed the company of his grandchildren.
He retired after more than 35 years from the Quaker State Refining Corp. in Emlenton.
He is survived by his wife, Doris J. Wetzel Goughler, who he married on June 25, 1965, in the Callensburg United Methodist Church.
Also surviving are a son, Michael W. Goughler; his close friend, Lindsay Dunn of Rimersburg; two daughters, Diane L. Goughler of Emlenton and Melissa A. Pellarian and her husband, Thomas, of Greentree, Allegheny County; seven grandchildren, Zachary C. Goughler, Destiny I. Garver, Nicole L. Garver, Nathan Kunselman, Dylan Goughler, Gavin Pellarian and Johnny Pellarian; a brother, Marvin Dean Goughler, and his wife, Ann, of Knox; a brother-in-law, Ronald Wetzel of Callensburg; and a number of nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a half-brother, Jack “Skip” Master and his wife, Geraldine; and a niece, Brenda Goughler.
<B>GOUGHLER</B> — Friends of William Bruce Goughler, who died Sunday, Dec. 18, 2011, will be received from 3 to 6 p.m. Wednesday and from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday at the <B>HILE FUNERAL HOME</B>, 1204 Kerr Ave., Emlenton. Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home with the Rev. Lori Danielson, pastor of Emlenton Presbyterian Church, officiating.
