Freda F. (Sarvey) Atwell

Freda F. (Sarvey) Atwell, 95, of Butler passed away Friday at St. John's Specialty Care Center, Mars.

She was born Jan. 12, 1916, in West Kittanning, the daughter of the late Silas Marlin and Effie (Bowser) Sarvey.

Freda had worked at Cooper Bessemer in Grove City where she assembled blowtorches during World War II. She also was a supervisor for 28 years at the Danica Clothing Factory in San Diego, Calif.

Freda was a member of the First Baptist Church. She enjoyed her family and working in her garden.

Surviving are two daughters, Irene Ferguson of Butler and Mary Evelyn Stimpson of San Diego; 7 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; 4 great- great-grandchildren; 6 great-stepgrandchildren; one sister, Amy Murphy and her husband, Paul, of Butler; three brothers, Marlin Sarvey and his wife, Myrtle, of Prospect, Walter Sarvey and his wife, Mary, of Butler and Earl Sarvey and his wife, Lena “Gert,” of Meridian, with whom Freda had lived; and a number of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, George Perry Atwell; four sisters; five brothers, and two great grandchildren

<B>Atwell</B> — Friends of Freda F. (Sarvey) Atwell, who died Friday, Dec. 30, 2011, will be received at the <B>Young Funeral Home,</B> 127 W. Jefferson St., Butler, from 1 to 3 and from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday. Services will be at the funeral home at 11 a.m. Wednesday with Pastors Dave Maitland, Jeff Gwilt and Todd Wentworth of the First Baptist Church officiating.Interment will be in the East Unity Cemetery, Eau Claire.In lieu of flowers, the family would like donations made to the First Baptist Christian School, 221 W.
