Never too old for a good joke
Dick Bose and Bonnie Marburger of Connoquenessing Township live together in Jensen Beach, Fla., during the winter in a 55-plus court.
“Us old people are always pulling tricks on each other,” Marburger said.
One Valentine’s Day a neighbor knocked on the door.
He had a bouquet of pink carnations with lots of baby’s breath.
The neighbor asked Marburger, “Will you be my Valentine?”
“Yes ... and I’ll love you forever,” Marburger said, kissing him on the cheek.
As she and the neighbor were laughing, Bose came up behind her and shook hands with him.
Bose said, “Thanks for buying her flowers, now I don’t have to.”
According to Marburger the moral of the story is “there’s no fool, like an old fool.”
