Retha Hiles
Retha Hiles, 82, of Fombell, formerly of Chippewa, passed away Saturday in Heritage Valley Beaver.
She was born Sept. 28, 1929, in Hacker Valley, W.Va. She was the daughter of the late Joseph and Annette Brady Cowger.
She was a housewife, a member of the Zelienople Church of the Nazarene and was a former member of the Freedom Church of the Nazarene.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William B. Hiles, in 2001. She also was preceded in death by a son, Harry Joseph Hiles, in 1961; a brother, Samp Cowger; and two sisters, Delpha Simmons and Truda Cowger.
She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, William D. and Deborah Hiles of Wintersville, Ohio; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Elizabeth and Bruce Durgan of Fombell, with whom she lived, Mary and Michael Riesmeyer of Butler and Esther Hiles and her husband, Timothy Kidwell, of Sandyville, W.Va.; 15 grandchildren; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Gordon and Gracie Cowger of Georgetown, Ky., and Harmon and Eloise Cowger of Diana, W.Va.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
<B>HILES — </B>Friends of Retha Hiles, who Saturday, Jan. 14, 2012, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the <B>WILLIAM MURPHY FUNERAL HOME</B>, 349 Adams St., Rochester. Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with her pastor, the Rev. Gary Smith, officiating. Internment will follow in Economy Cemetery.The family wishes memorial donations be made to the Zelienople Church of the Nazarene, 115 Nazarene Court, Tomicia, Fombell, PA 16063.The family wishes to thank the nurses and staff of the third floor at Heritage Valley Beaver for the care and comfort given to our mother.
