Rupert J. Webb
Rupert J. Webb, 86, of Butler passed away at 6:45 a.m. Monday at Butler Memorial Hospital.
He was born June 16, 1925, in Queens Junction, Pa., to the late Archie G. Webb and Dolores V. Miller Webb.
Mr. Webb was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving in World War II. He lived in Long Beach, Calif. for 30 years, moving back to Butler in 1985. He was a postal clerk for the U.S. Postal Service, retiring in 1985. Mr. Webb was a member of Muddy Creek Presbyterian Church.
Mr. Webb is survived by his wife, Geraldine E. Tebay Webb, who he married March 18, 1946; one son, Donald J. Webb of Butler; one daughter, Dolores Mason and her husband, Roland, of Winston Salem, N.C.; five grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; three brothers, Archie C. Webb of Bakersfield, Calif., Chester E. Webb and his wife, Linda, of Surprise, Ariz., and Wallace G. Webb and his wife, Hazel, of Butler; and a number of nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Richard M. Webb.
<B>WEBB</B> — Friends of Rupert J. Webb, who passed away Monday, Jan. 16, 2012, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at <B>Thompson-Miller Funeral Home</B>, 124 E. North St., Butler. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home with Pastor Matthew Kail from Muddy Creek Presbyterian Church officiating.Officers and members of the American Legion Post 778 Lyndora and the VFW Post 249 will conduct military services following the funeral services.Burial will take place in Greenlawn Burial Estates.Online condolences can be given at www.thompson-miller.com.
