Myrtle Friend, 84, of South Buffalo Township passed away at 1:35 a.m. Jan. 19 while in the company of family members at Fair Winds Manor in Winfield Township.

Myrtle was born in Boggsville, South Buffalo Township, on Oct. 12, 1927. She was the daughter of the late Olive (Shaw) Keener and Raymond G. Kenner. She was the widow of Clyde Friend, who passed away in November.

Myrtle was a bookkeeper at Carson Industries in South Buffalo Township for more than 20 years.

Myrtle was a member of the Reformed United Presbyterian Church in South Buffalo Township. She was also a member of the National Active and Retired Federal Employees Association. She enjoyed reading, gardening and spending time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by five children, Raymond (Peggy) Friend of Chicora, Ronald (Michelle) Friend of Winter Springs, Fla., Rodney (Philippa) Friend of Buffalo Township, Saundra (Bob) Isovitsch of Butler and Cynthia Crytzer of Mercer; 12 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

She also is survived by her five brothers, Richard (Janet) Keener of Freeport, Donald Keener of North Buffalo Township, R. Lawrence Keener of Cabot, Keith (Charlotte) Keener of Freeport and William (Judy) Keener of Freeport; and two sisters, Mary Lou Bouch of Orlando, Fla., and Janet (Richard) Scott of Fenelton.

She was preceded in death by her son, Roger Friend; her two sisters, Margaret Turko and Eleanor Emery; an infant sister, Donna Keener; and an infant brother, Kenneth Keener.
