Ina Mae Herold
Ina Mae Herold, 93, of Butler fondly known as “Bubba” to her family, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Tuesday surrounded by her family and friends.
She was born Aug. 3, 1918, in New Castle, to John R. and Grace Ellison. She married John A. Herold on Dec. 26, 1935.
Since 1946 she and her husband were owners and operators of the Herold Longview Acres Farm. Together they raised seven children. Ina Mae and John A. traveled extensively covering all 50 states, Europe, Canada and Mexico.
Ina Mae managed the farm. She always had a large garden and loved to “put up” the fruits of her labor. She enjoyed playing bridge, bingo and other card games. She was active in her church and community.
She served on the Center Township Election Board for over 50 years and was a Majority Inspector. She also donated time to Meals on Wheels and cooking for the church youth groups. Ina Mae was also instrumental in starting hot lunches at Center Township School in the 1950s and was president of the PTA.
She greatly enjoyed spending time with her family and at her Conneaut Lake Cottage for more than 60 years. She also loved to share this special place of hers with her friends from card club and church groups and hosted several family reunions.
“Bubba” left a legacy of many wonderful memories for her children and grandchildren. She was the matriarch of her family and was a true example of a Godly Woman for all who knew and loved her. Proverbs 31:10-31.
Mrs. Herold is survived by her children, John R. “Jack” Herold of Spruce Pine, Ala., Gladie O'Day of Columbus, Ohio, Pat (David) Paraska, Dale A. (Dianna) Herold and Judy (Raymond) Heichel, all of Butler; one daughter-in-law, Marilyn Herold of Butler; 16 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Marian Cunningham of Butler; one brother, Raymond (Diana) Ellison of Seminole, Fla.; and one sister-in-law, Josephine Ellison of Hallandale, Fla.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John; two sons, David L. and James R. Herold; her parents; and two brothers.
<B>HEROLD</B> — Funeral services for Ina Mae Herold, who died Tuesday, Jan. 31, 2012, services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Westminster Presbyterian Church in America, 420 N. Main St., Butler, with the Rev. Dan Ledford and Rev.
