Linda Miller Sams, 64, of Butler passed away at 9:50 a.m. Wednesday at her home of pancreatic cancer.

She was born Jan. 16, 1948, in Houston, Texas, to Geneva Smith Miller and the late William S. Miller.

Mrs. Sams worked in Slippery Rock School District at Moraine Elementary School in Prospect for 22 years.

She was a member of Christ Community United Methodist Church, where she had taught Sunday School and was a member of the choir.

Mrs. Sams is survived by her loving spouse, Jim, who she married on July 18, 1970; two sons, Brian Sams and his wife, Danielle (King), of North Andover, Mass., and Tim Sams of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; one daughter, Allison (Sams) DeVaux and her husband, Scott, of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; her mother, Geneva Miller of Chesterland, Ohio; six grandchildren, Emily, Brett, Eric and Daniel DeVaux, all of Myrtle Beach, S.C., and Will and Paige Sams of North Andover, Mass.; one sister, Cynthia Barnes of Chesterland, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews.

<B>SAMS</B> — Friends of Linda Miller Sams, who passed away Wednesday, Feb. 8, 2012, will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8:30 p.m. Friday at <B>Thompson-Miller Funeral Home</B>, 124 E. North St., Butler.Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Christ Community United Methodist Church, 205 N. Duffy Road Butler, with the Rev. Jeffrey St. Claire of the Christ Community United Methodist Church and the Rev. Kathy Mikesell officiating. The committal service will follow immediately in the chapel at Butler County Memorial Park.Burial will take place in Butler County Memorial Park.Donations in memory of Linda Miller Sams may be made to the Memorial Fund of Christ Community United Methodist Church, 205 N.
