Pvt. Chelsea Martin graduated from boot camp at Marine Corps Recruit Depot, Parris Island, S.C.Martin was named an artist recruit and helped to paint murals at Parris Island for the celebration of women Marines.Following combat training at Camp Lejeune in Pensacola, Fla., she will attend Military Occupation Specialty School.Martin, a 2009 Knoch High School graduate and a student at Butler County Community College, is the daughter of Rick and Patty Martin of Jefferson Township.

Brian Buerkle, son of Jennifer Buerkle of Erie and Brian Buerkle of Worthington, recently graduated from the basic water support technician course at Marine Corps Engineer School, Camp Lejeune, N.C.Buerkle is a 2011 graduate of Kittanning Senior High School and joined the Marine Corps Reserve in June 2011.
