James R. Dinger
James R. Dinger, 71, died at 1 p.m. Saturday at VNA Inpatient Hospice, Butler.
He was born on July 20, 1940, in Knox Dale, to Charles I. Dinger and Anna May C. (Miller) Dinger.
He was employed as a machinist at the Pulva Corp. of Saxonburg and retired in June 2011 after 16 years. Earlier he was employed at the former Cooper-Bessemer Co., Grove City.
He was a member of the West Unity Community Church in Harrisville. He was an avid fisherman, hunter and a ginseng hunter. He was a U.S. Army veteran.
He was married to Helen E. (Shaffer) Dinger on April 29, 1961.
He is survived by his wife, three daughters, Theresa L. Johnston and her husband, Boyd E., of Harrisville, Catherine E. Young and her husband, Daniel L., of League City, Texas, and Robin L. Leach and her husband, Todd A., of Kemah, Texas; one son, James I. Dinger and his wife, Doris, of New Galilee, Pa., seven granddaughters; three grandsons; one sister, Lorinda Marbell and her husband, Arthur, of Boyers; and three brothers, Charles Dinger and his wife, Ruth, of Virginia, Joseph Dinger and his wife, Wanda, of the state of Indiana and Robert Dinger and his wife, Mary Ann, of Punxsutawney.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
