BOYS BASKETBALL HONOR ROLL

Here is the Butler County boys basketball honor roll for the 2011-12 season. Selections were made by the Eagle sports staff after discussions with area coaches:

Cody West (Butler) 6-0 guard, senior — Averaged 9.8 points and 2.5 assists per game for Golden Tornado, hitting 65 treys, including a WPIAL Tournament record-tying eight in one playoff game.•

Tavita Lio (Knoch) 6-4 guard, senior — Led the Knights with 9.9 points per game, also averaged 5 rebounds and three assists per contest.n

Mitch Buzard (Mars) 6-0 guard, junior — 13.3 points and 3.0 rebounds per game. Added 34 three-pointers and 25 steals. Voted Team MVP.•

Owen Nearhoof (Mars) 5-11 guard, sophomore — 13.3 points, 2.7 rebounds and 2.3 steals per game. Drained 51 three-point goals.•

Josh Goetz (Mars) 6-7 center, junior — 8.8 points and 12.1 rebounds per contest. Tallied 33 blocked shots.•

Alex Maxfield (Seneca Valley) 6-1 guard, senior — Led the Raiders with 13.2 points per game and added 5.0 rebounds and 3.8 assists.•

Chad Albert (Seneca Valley) 6-5 forward, senior — Averaged 9.1 points and 8.7 rebounds.•

Ryan Bartley (A-C Valley) 6-1 guard/forward, junior — 20.3 points and 9.5 rebounds per game.•

Brody Irwin (A-C Valley) 5-10 guard, junior — 14.3 points per game. Had 45 three-pointers.•

Elijah Minnie (Summit Academy) 6-8 forward, sophomore — Averaged 16.3 points and 10 rebounds per contest and added 34 3-pointers for the Section 2-AA champion Knights.•

Rakim Reedy (Summit Academy) 5-8 point guard, senior — After joining the team in the 10th game, he averaged a team-high 17.3 points and 10 assists per game and chipped in 21 3-pointers as well.•

Ryan Dunn (Freeport) 5-10 point guard, senior — Led the Yellowjackets with a team-high 14.2 points per game and 35 3-pointers.•

Brendan Lynch (Freeport) 5-11 guard, junior — Averaged 12.8 points a game for the Yellowjackets, who qualified for the WPIAL Class AA playoffs.•

Tucker Preston (Karns City) 5-10 guard, senior — The KSAC third-team selection averaged a team-high 13 points and 4.6 rebounds and added 43 3-pointers.•

Tyler Kepple (Karns City) 5-10 guard, sophomore — Among the top 3-point shooters in the area with 51 treys while averaging 12 points and four rebounds per game.•

Ryan Thompson (Slippery Rock) 6-1 guard, senior — Averaged 10.7 points per game and also led the Rockets in assists and rebounds.•

Torin Smith (Grove City) 5-10 guard, senior — Led the Eagles in scoring with 17 points per game and also hit a county-leading 65 3-pointers.n

Kyle Armagost (Moniteau) 6-1 guard, senior — The KSAC MVP filled the stat sheet with regularity, averaging 22.6 points, 12.2 rebounds, 4.6 assists, 4.2 steals and 1.9 blocks per game.•

Andrew Armagost (Moniteau) 6-0 guard, junior — Led the Warriors with 5.3 assists per game and 22 3-pointers. His 8.2 rebounds and 3.4 steals per contest were second on the team, while averaging 9.0 points.•

Ethan Pry (Moniteau) 6-1 guard, senior — The Warriors' second-leading scorer averaged 9.2 points and 3.1 steals per game.•

Brody Pollock (Union) 5-11 forward, senior — Led Knights with 19.4 points per game and tied for sixth in the Butler County area with 44 3-pointers.•

Taylor Smith (Union) 5-9 guard, senior — The Knights' second-leading scorer tallied 14.6 points per game and knocked down 48 treys.•

Austin Davis (Union) 5-7 guard, senior — Averaged just 6.3 points per game, but was an instrumental part to the Knights' offense and defense, helping the team to a 20-4 record.
