Joseph A. Adamo, 87, of St. Petersburg, Fla., died Tuesday.

He was born in Winsted, Conn., and moved to St. Petersburg in 1956.

He graduated from St. Petersburg Junior College and was a World War II U.S. Navy veteran. In 1986, he retired from working with real estate.

He was an active member of the Shuffle Board Club at the Pinellas Park Senior Citizens Center in Florida and he also enjoyed golfing.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his loving wife of 27 years, Eleanor, formerly of Butler; his children, Robert Adamo and Karen Silvestro; stepchildren, Douglas Harmon and Debra Jordan; nine grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

<B>ADAMO — </B>There will be a celebration of life for Joseph A. Adamo, who died Tuesday, Feb. 28, 2012, in Pennsylvania later.
