Ida Gertrude Tarhay
Ida Gertrude “Gertie” Tarhay, 94, formerly of Arnold and Jensen Beach, Fla., passed away Thursday at the home of her daughter, Terry Lynn Gustafson, in Endicott, N.Y.
She was born in Glassmere, Creighton, on June 11, 1917, to Herman and Ida (McGraw) Orf.
She lived in New York for 20 years. Before that, she lived in Jensen Beach, Fla., for 25 years. Before that, she lived in Arnold.
She was a homemaker. She attended the Calvary Lutheran Church in Arnold. She graduated from Springdale High School in 1934.
She enjoyed reading and bingo, but she especially enjoyed her family, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her daughter, who she lived with, Terry Lynn (James) Gustafson of Endicott, N.Y.; a second daughter, Donna (John) Lydon of Butler; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Stephen “Terry” Tarhay, who died in 1990; and two sisters, Ethel Cummings in 1985 and Mildred Williamson.

Duster Funeral Home, 10th Ave. at Corbet St., Tarentum.Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at the funeral home with the Rev. Jerome E. Panzigrau, pastor of John Huss Lutheran Church in Arnold and St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church in Brackenridge. Interment will be in Mt.
