Lloyd B. 'Guff' Gray
Lloyd B. “Guff” Gray, 83, of Hiles Road, East Brady, Bradys Bend Township, Armstrong County, died late Monday morning, shortly after his arrival in the emergency room at Butler Memorial Hospital.
He was born in Seminole on Oct. 25, 1928. He was the son of Alvie and Bertha McGregor Gray.
Mr. Gray was a longtime member of the Trinity Reformed Church in Bradys Bend where he served on the Consistory as deacon and elder.
He was a 1947 graduate of East Brady High School. He retired as the assistant superintendent of U.S. Steel Archives in Boyers following 43 years of service.
Mr. Gray was a Mason and was a 50-year member of the former East Brady Masonic Lodge 640 F&AM, having served the lodge five times as Worshipful Master. Later, he became a member of the Kittanning/East Brady Masonic Lodge 244 F&AM. He belonged to the Valley of New Castle Consistory, and the Syria Shrine of Pittsburgh.
“Guff” was a car enthusiast and found great enjoyment in buying a new car. He enjoyed hunting, gardening, listening to audio books, making wooden crosses, which he generously gave as gifts to many, and he most especially enjoyed the company of his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was married on April 10, 1948, to the former Velma M. Hiles. She preceded him in death on Oct. 16, 1989. He later married the former Agnes Steiner at the St. Paul's Community Church in Chicora on March 16, 1991. She survives.
Surviving are five children, Randy B. Gray and his wife, Jeannie, of Monroeville, Mendy A. Early of Chicora, James R. Hillwig and his wife, Donna, of East Brady, Scott D. Hillwig and his wife, Jessica, of Saxonburg, and Kimberly A. Wimer and her husband, Brian, of East Brady; 16 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and Mr. Gray was looking forward to the arrival of his 20th great-grandchild.
Also surviving are a brother, Raymond Gray and his wife, Alene, of Worthington, Ohio; two sisters, Kathryn McElroy of New Castle and Frances Clark of Saxonburg, and a number of nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by four sisters and one brother.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Trinity Reformed Church, Bradys Bend, with the Rev.
