James C. Brady

James Brady

James C. Brady, 86, of Evans City passed away at 8:15 a.m. Wednesday at VA Butler Health Care Medical Center.

He was born April 2, 1925, in Coalport, Pa., to the late Harry Brady and Ellen Story Brady.

Mr. Brady was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II on the island of Saipan. He was a recipient of the Purple Heart.

Mr. Brady was a self-employed fire restoration contractor. He volunteered his time at the Veterans Administration and with the Disabled American Veterans. He assisted the Gideons in distributing Bibles at the Butler jail. He was an active member and advocate in the National Rifle Association and was a member of the Butler City Hunting and Fishing Club Pistol Team.

Mr. Brady was a member of the First United Methodist Church where he was an active volunteer in the Seeds of Hope.

Mr. Brady is survived by his wife, Dolores Brady, who he married June 8, 1946; four sons, James Brady and his wife Jean, Dave Brady and his wife, Gaynell, Wayne Brady and Matthew Brady and his wife, Vicky; one daughter, Becky Watterson and her husband, Bill; seven grandchildren, Rachel Rake, Jill Brady, Jason Brady, Erin Price, Jay Brady, Michelle Brady and Ben Watterson; two great-grandchildren; and the Wimer family.

<B>BRADY</B> — There will be no public visitation for James C. Brady, who passed away on Wednesday, March 7, 2012.A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the First United Methodist Church, 200 E. North St., Butler, with the Rev. Dr. J. David Panther officiating.In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the First United Methodist Church, 200 E.
