PITTSBURGH — The Pittsburgh Steelers have agreed to terms with free agent wide receiver Jerricho Cotchery.

Cotchery posted the message “Let me see ya towels” on his Twitter account Wednesday after agreeing to a two-year deal worth around $3 million. The 29-year-old Cotchery had 16 receptions for 237 yards and two touchdowns in 13 games with Pittsburgh last season. He had a 31-yard touchdown reception during an overtime playoff loss to the Denver Broncos.

Cotchery gives the Steelers much-needed depth at wide receiver following the retirement of Hines Ward and the release of veteran Arnaz Battle. The Steelers have signed restricted free agent wide receiver Mike Wallace to a first-round tender.

If Wallace returns, Cotchery will likely compete for the third-receiver spot with Emmanuel Sanders behind Pro Bowlers Wallace and Antonio Brown.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — The NHL has fined Nashville defenseman Shea Weber $2,500 for slamming Detroit forward Henrik Zetterberg's head against the glass at the end of Game 1 and warned the captain to be careful the rest of the playoffs.

CLEVELAND — The Cleveland Indians may have found a boost for their stagnant offense.The team has reached agreement on a $1.25 million, one-year contract with free agent outfielder Johnny Damon, a person familiar with the deal said Thursday. The person spoke on condition of anonymity because the Indians had not yet announced the agreement.Damon is 277 hits from 3,000 and was looking to catch on with a team to prolong his career.Damon needs hits to reach the milestone. The Indians simply need hits.Indians general manager Chris Antonetti, who has been looking for a player to help a Cleveland team off to a 1-4 start and batting just .176 — worst in the majors.

CALGARY, Alberta — Brent Sutter is out as coach of the Calgary Flames.The decision came Thursday after a meeting between general manager Jay Feaster and Sutter, whose contract was to expire at the end of June.The Flames narrowly missed the postseason in all three years under Sutter, compiling a 118-90-38 record overall. Calgary went 37-29-16 this season.
