Elva I. Haehle
Elva I. Haehle, 87, of Saxonburg passed away Monday at the VNA Inpatient Hospice in Butler.
Born March 4, 1925, in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of Harry Fleming and Emma Huff Fleming.
Elva had worked as a packer for Du-Co Ceramics, retiring in 1981 after 10 years.
She was a member of the Saxonburg Memorial Presbyterian Church, where she was a member of the kitchen ministry, a deacon and a member of the Sassy Seniors. She also was a member of the Saxonburg Volunteer Fire Company Women's Auxiliary. She enjoyed gardening, canning, camping and sewing her daughters' wedding dresses. She especially enjoyed all her grandchildren and granddogs.
Surviving are her husband, Theodore C. “Pat” Haehle, who she married on Oct. 22, 1949. She was the love of his life. She was his Minnie, his Zelda and his Huggie Bare, and gave him four wonderful children, three daughters, Linda (Nick) Gurner of Butler, Judy (Doug) Farney of Saxonburg and Joyce (Jim Saeler) Byers of Saxonburg; one son, Thomas (Amy) Haehle of Lincoln University, Pa.; and eight grandchildren, Joe Gurner, Nicole Gurner, Bryan (Nicole) Farney, Andrew Farney, Katelyn (Robert) Jahn, Kevin Haehle, Jessica (Dave) Sargent and Erin Haehle.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one grandson, Troy Haehle; four brothers, Frank, Walter, Leonard and Robert Fleming; and one sister, Helen Wallace.
She will be greatly missed by all. May she rest in peace in the arms of Christ our Savior. I love you, Huggie Bare.
