Francis Watt

Francis Ewing Watt Jr., 82, of Butler passed away Tuesday at Covenant Hospice Inpatient at West Florida Hospital in Pensacola, Fla. He was surrounded by his loving family when he peacefully went home to be with our Lord and Savior.

Francis was born Sept. 27, 1929, and was the son of the late Francis E. Watt Sr. and Lucille (Wilson) Watt.

He was born in Export and moved to Butler in his senior year of high school. He graduated from Butler High School in 1948. After high school he joined the U.S. Army and served three years during the Korean War.

Francis was known for having a compassionate and generous heart. He was a dedicated, loving and giving husband, father, grandfather and great- grandfather and hosted several foreign exchange students in his home.

He was the owner and manufacturer of Watt Campers in the village of Mount Chestnut, Butler County. He found joy in reading his Bible, gardening, working with his hands and refurbishing a 1946 Massey Harris farm tractor.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Louise Gardner Watt, who he married Oct. 10, 1952. They would have celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary this fall. He also is survived by three daughters, Cynthia (Donald) Dettore of Pensacola, Fla., Kimberly (James Dickey) Watt-Allison of Slippery Rock and Valerie (Chris) Dinger of Harrisburg; two sons, Kris (Lisa) Watt of Union City, Pa., and Kurt (Melissa) Watt of West Lafayette, Ind.; 11 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a sister, Mary (Charles) Fox of Greensburg; several sister-in-laws; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a stillborn infant son on March 13, 1959.

<B>WATT</B> — Visitation for Francis Ewing Watt Jr., who passed away on Tuesday, March 13, 2012, will be from 11 a.m. to noon Saturday at the <B>Edward L. Raisley Funeral Home</B>, 387 Main St., Prospect.
