DENVER — Jamie Moyer is headed to the Hall of Fame.

Well, maybe his uniform anyway. Or perhaps even his glove.

Cooperstown has asked for some sort of memorabilia from Moyer to commemorate his record-setting night as the 49-year-old left-hander became the oldest pitcher to ever win a major league contest.

LEXINGTON, Ky. — Kentucky's starting lineup of three freshmen and two sophomores did most everything together. Now, they will go their separate ways in the NBA.Freshmen Anthony Davis, Michael Kidd-Gilchrist and Marquis Teague, and sophomores Terrence Jones and Doron Lamb declared for the draft in a nationally televised news conference Tuesday night.

WASHINGTON — President Barack Obama is praising NASCAR Sprint Cup champion Tony Stewart for “one of the most dramatic finishes that we have ever seen.”Obama welcomed Stewart and other top NASCAR drivers to the White House to celebrate Stewart’s come-from-behind championship, his third title. The president noted Stewart nearly wrote off the season during the summer but charged back to win five races in the post-season and edge Carl Edwards.Stewart and Edwards tied in the final Sprint Cup Series standings, but Stewart won the title based on his five victories. Obama credited Edwards for handling “disappointment with grace and class.”Obama got to admire red and black versions of Stewart’s No. 14 Chevrolet Impala. The president says “every year I try to take a lap. Nobody lets me do it.”

SLIPPERY ROCK — Slippery Rock University sophomore right-hander Lou Trivino has been named PSAC West Pitcher of the Week.Trivino pitched a two-hit shutout against division tri-leader Mercyhurst Saturday to earn the honor. He leads the PSAC with a 1.61 earned run average and is 7-2 on the season.
