John A. Rupp Sr.
John A. Rupp Sr., 78, of Worthington died Sunday at ACMH Hospital.
He was born June 6, 1933, in Dayton, Armstrong County, the son of the late Miles and Lillian (Bussard) Rupp.
He was a military veteran, serving in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
Mr. Rupp was a Protestant, and he belonged to the Masonic Lodge 805 and the New Castle Consistory.
He was an inductee in the Armstrong County Sports Hall of Fame, where he served on the board of governors.
Mr. Rupp was the former president of the Worthington Little League and was the District 7 administrator for the Pennsylvania Little League for 29 years.
He enjoyed hunting, NASCAR racing, baseball and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Shirley (Swigart) Rupp of Worthington. They celebrated their anniversary on March 18, 2012.
He also is survived by a daughter, Kathi (Terry) Smith of Worthington; a son, John (Bobbi) Rupp of Worthington; four grandchildren, Shawna (Trevor) Zaliponi of Butler, and Brett (Danielle) Smith, Kailey Rupp and Kaden Rupp, all of Worthington; four great-grandchildren, Alyza, Noah, Cameron and Max Smith; several nieces and nephews; and a sister-in-law, Kay Rupp-Zambotti of Kittanning.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Tim, Roy and Miles “Wayne” Rupp, and an infant brother; and four sisters, Mary Clever-McMillen, Martha Crawford, Ruth Slagle and Geraldine Rupp.

DUANE SNYDER FUNERAL HOME</B>, 119 Bear St., Worthington. Additional visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday before services at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. The Rev. A. David Meneely will officiate.
