Joseph Robert Bukovac

Joseph Robert Bukovac, 94, of Prospect passed away Wednesday morning at his home following an illness.

He was born Nov. 25, 1917, in Pittsburgh, and was the son of the late Joseph Bukovac and Mary Sechan Bukovac Peterson.

He was a member of the St. Christopher at the Lake Roman Catholic Church in Prospect, where he was an usher and helped around the church.

Mr. Bukovac was a U.S. Army veteran who served in World War II. He was a member of the Prospect American Legion Post 417.

He was a member of the Croatian Fraternal Union (CFU).

He was retired from Berry Metal in Harmony, where he was a welder.

He is survived by his daughter Mrs. Paul (Paulette) Reeder of Prospect; two granddaughters, Lori Pollock of Saltsburg and Jennifer Castellano of Pittsburgh; five great-grandchildren; and two siblings, JoAnn Costanzo of Pittsburgh and Elmer Peterson of Chicora.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Ann “Peggy” Bukovac, who he married on Dec. 29, 1938, and who passed away Aug. 6, 2007; two sons, Joseph R. Bukovac Jr. and Frank M. Bukovac; one brother; and two sisters.

<B>BUKOVAC — </B>Friends of Joseph Robert Bukovac, who passed away Wednesday, March 21, 2012, will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7to 8:30 p.m. Friday with rosary to follow at 8:30 p.m. at the <B>Edward L. Raisley Funeral Home</B>, 387 Main St., Prospect. The funeral Mass will be at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at the St. Christopher at the Lake Roman Catholic Church, Prospect, with the Rev.
