Dennis J. “Mac” MacDonald, 54, of Fenelton died unexpectedly Friday.

Born Dec. 27, 1957, in Butler, he was a son of Evelyn (Shuler) MacDonald and the late William MacDonald.

A 1976 graduate of Butler High School, he had worked as a masonry laborer.

He was a member of the St. John Roman Catholic Church in Coylesville and the Happy Hunters Club; had enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, woodworking and spending time with his grandchildren; was an all around handyman; and mostly was always willing to help a friend who was in need.

Surviving are his wife, Cindy L. (Shay) MacDonald, who he married June 16, 1978; three children, Robert MacDonald and his wife, Tara, of Fenelton; Kelly MacDonald and her fiance, Tom Patterson, of Fenelton and Susan MacDonald and her fiance, Jeremy Warner, of Fenelton; six grandchildren, Ethan, Jimmy, Hunter, Ryleigh, Addison, Aubreigh; one additional grandchild expected in August this year; his mother, Evelyn MacDonald of Butler; two brothers, David and Kathy MacDonald of Butler and Gary L. and Debbie MacDonald of Fenelton; one sister, Julie and Michael Wylie of Saxonburg; and a number of nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father, William MacDonald.

<B>MACDONALD</B> — Friends of Dennis J. “Mac” MacDonald, who died on Friday, March 23, 2012, will be received at <B>Geibel Funeral Home</B>, 201 E. Cunningham St., Butler, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the St. John Roman Catholic Church in Coylesville. Interment will follow in St. John's Parish Cemetery.Information also is available at www.geibelfuneralhome.com.
