DURHAM, N.C. — Three Pittsburgh Pirates farmhands combined on a no-hitter in the Indianapolis Indians' 2-0 victory over the Durham Bulls on Sunday in the International League.

Winning pitcher Justin Wilson struck out nine in 7 1-3 innings for the Indians before he was relieved in the eighth by Jose Diaz, who retired the only two batters he faced. Doug Slaten got three groundouts in the ninth, with Reid Brignac bouncing out to second baseman Anderson Hernandez to end the no-hitter.

Indianapolis allowed only two baserunners. Wilson walked Kyle Hudson in the third and Jeff Salazar in the eighth.

UC Irvine, Penn State, Lewis and USC will play for the NCAA men's volleyball title.The bracket for the tournament was announced Sunday. Top-seeded UC Irvine (24-5), winner of the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation, will play the fourth-seeded Nittany Lions (23-5), the Eastern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association winner, in the first semifinal match on Thursday night at USC's Galen Center in Los Angeles.

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Clippers forward Caron Butler broke his left hand Sunday in Game 1 of Los Angeles' series against the Memphis Grizzlies.Butler had 12 points and two rebounds in 23 minutes, and the Clippers rallied without him. They tied the NBA playoff record for largest deficit overcome at the end of three quarters, when they trailed by 21, and beat the Grizzlies 99-98.

ATLANTA — Boston Celtics guard Ray Allen didn't play in Game 1 of the NBA playoffs against the Atlanta Hawks.As expected, coach Doc Rivers said before Sunday's game that Allen won't be in uniform because of an ailing right ankle. He had a cortisone shot last week and says the ankle is feeling better, but not enough to go in the playoff opener. Rivers says the status of the 36-year-old guard will be determined before each game. The coach isn't ruling out the possibility of Allen playing sometime in the series.

WASHINGTON — The Roger Clemens perjury trial is resuming after a five-day break. The prosecution's first witness, congressional staffer Phil Barnett, will return to the stand Monday after beginning his testimony last Tuesday.Clemens, a seven-time Cy Young Award winner, is accused of lying to Congress when, at a hearing and deposition that preceded it, he denied taking steroids or human growth hormone.

ARLINGTON, Texas — Texas Rangers outfielder Josh Hamilton left Sunday night's game against Tampa Bay with stiffness in his back.Hamilton, the American League's home run leader with nine, is day-to-day.
