Jay W. Dawson, 57, of Middlesex Township, Valencia, died Wednesday afternoon at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh.

Born in Minneapolis, Minn., on Aug. 19, 1954, he was the son of Ruth Johnson Dawson of North Hills, and the late Wesley Dawson.

Jay was vice president and legal and corporate secretary for Peoples TWP in Butler and was a founding member of the North Way Christian Community in Wexford.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Susan Vansant Dawson, who he married on Aug. 19, 1978; three daughters, Julia Dawson Allan and her husband, Dennis, of Pittsburgh, Elisa Dawson of Valencia and Christianna Dawson Ventresca and her husband, Nick, of Horsham, Pa.; his granddaughter, Keely Allan; a sister, Ann Boehm and her husband, Larry, of Sarver; three brothers, Robb Dawson and his wife, Merry, of Fair Hope, Ala., Mark Dawson and his wife, Susan, of Chicago and Mike Dawson and his wife, Therese, of Wexford; and many nieces and nephews.
