Doris Schaeffer

Doris Marie Schaeffer, 79, formerly of Freeport Road, Butler, passed away at 6:45 a.m. Sunday at the Sunnyview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

She was born May 18, 1932, in Butler, to the late John Jardin and Irene Lowry Jardin.

Mrs. Schaeffer worked at Du-Co Ceramics until her retirement in 1997. She was a member of the St. Mark's Evangelical Lutheran Church and loved to work in her flower and vegetable gardens.

Mrs. Schaeffer is survived by one son, Daniel R. Schaeffer and his wife, Debra J., of Butler; three granddaughters, Angela and her husband, Jason Riemer, Sarah and her husband, Jeremiah Nicky Dossett, and Holly Schaeffer; one step-grandson, Troy J. Topash; two sisters, Joyce Black of Cabot and Jean Hoagland and her husband, David, of Grove City; and 10 nieces and two nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Richard O. Schaeffer, who she married on Aug. 28, 1952, and who passed away Dec. 26, 1999, and one brother, Ronald Jardin.

<B>SCHAEFFER — </B>Friends of Doris Marie Schaeffer, who passed away on Sunday, April 1, 2012, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the <B>Thompson-Miller Funeral Home</B>, 124 E. North St., Butler.Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Dr. Alden Towberman officiating. Burial will take place in the Gruenwald Cemetery.In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the St. Mark's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 201 W.
