Fruit grower's twilight meeting set
Area fruit growers are invited to spend an evening at Triple B Farms in Monongahela, Pa., for the Western Region Fruit Grower’s Twilight Meeting.
The meeting is scheduled from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. May 16.
The evening’s program will feature discussion on chemical thinning, weed control, next year bloom enhancement, an update on fruit insect integrated pest management and local marketing trends.
Pending PA Department of Agriculture approval, 2 category credits toward pesticide license renewal will be available for participants.
Triple B Farms is a family farm owned and operated by Ron and Carolyn Beinlich and Bill and Sue Beinlich. The family has been producing and harvesting homegrown produce since 1985. They combine marketing of local fruits and vegetables with agritainment for families.

Office hours
The Penn State Extension Office in Butler County will be closed on Thursday for all staff to participate in a district meeting with Dennis Calvin, Pennsylvania Director of Cooperative Extension.
Normal office hours, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., will resume Friday.
