Richard L. 'Skinny' Leonard
Richard L. “Skinny” Leonard, 68, of Butler passed away Monday lovingly surrounded by his five daughters at the VNA Inpatient Hospice in Butler.
He was born Jan. 17, 1944, in Sharon, the son of the late Earl C. and Mary (Bray) Leonard.
Skinny was a fireman for Butler City and a janitor for JC Penney. He was a U.S. Navy veteran and a member of the American Legion Post 117. He also volunteered at Vagabonds Hall for many years.
Surviving is his wife, Barbara L. (Harrer) Leonard of Butler. They would have celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on June 14, 2012. Also surviving are his daughters, Darlene (James) Ferne, Sharon (Michael) Bartley, Carol (Jeff) Smith, Deborah (Bill) Croup, all of Butler and Machele (Greg) Marfil of Las Vegas; 15 grandsons; one granddaughter; and three great- grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, John E. Leonard.

Jefferson St., Butler, from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday. There also will be visitation at the funeral home from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Thursday. Then, the funeral service will be held at the North Street Christian Church, 226 W.
