Lois A. Norton, 80, of Mars died Thursday afternoon.

Born in Johnstown on May 17, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Viola Jeroy Gregory.

Lois grew up in Gibsonia. She was a 1949 graduate of Mars High School and a 1954 graduate of the University of Pittsburgh School of Nursing. Before retiring, she was employed as a staff nurse at the Ross Regional Center of John J. Kane Hospital.

She enjoyed family, being a homemaker, volunteering, travel, woodland hiking, music, animals, reading, sewing and wholesome humor.

Lois is grateful for a wonderful life, filled with good people and special experiences shared with her husband of 57 years, Charles.

Surviving are her husband, Charles A. Norton; her son, Phillip A. Norton (Rev. Lynne Donovan) of Picton, Ontario, Canada; a granddaughter, Gabrielle Norton of Redondo Beach, Calif.; grandsons, Cole A. Norton and Luke D. Norton of Picton, Ontario, Canada; a sister, Terry Lloyd (George Irwin) of Houston, Texas; a niece, Cathy Epstein (Jordan) of Petaluma, Calif.; a nephew, William R. Lloyd (Lori) of Houston, Texas; a grandnephew, Isaac Epstein of Petaluma, Calif.; grandnieces, Leyna and Bella of Houston, Texas; a sister-in-law, Marion N. Dobson; and her extended family.

She was preceded in death by a son, Kenneth C. Norton.
