One dies in coal trucks crash near Kittanning
KITTANNING — The Armstrong County coroner and the county district attorney are at the scene of a deadly crash today involving a car and two coal trucks on U.S. Route 422 in Kittanning Township.
State troopers from the Kittanning barracks say Route 422 will be closed for much of the day while they investigate and clear wreckage.
Authorities say a person in the car was killed when it crashed with one of the coal trucks about 5:15 a.m. today. The second truck crashed when its driver tried to avoid the accident.
Police have yet to say how the crash occurred or to release the names of the drivers or the victim.
Coroner Robert Bower and District Attorney Scott Andreassi have been at the scene for a while.
