Estella L. Reitz, 86, of the Chicora Medical Center, formerly of Bradys Bend, died Thursday at the Chicora Medical Center.

Born Sept. 13, 1925, in St. Petersburg, she was the daughter of Jacob and Irene (Dittman) Mays.

She attended St. Petersburg Schools, and on Oct. 17, 1941, she married Ellis F. “Dick” Reitz.

Estella was employed by Archway Cookie (Davis Cookie Co.) in Rimersburg for five years. She also worked in the East Brady High School Cafeteria for several years.

She was a member of St. Paul’s Community Church in Sugarcreek Township, where she taught Sunday school for more than 40 years. Estella served the church as a volunteer in every possible aspect. She especially enjoyed visiting with shut ins.

Estella enjoyed music, and in earlier years she played the violin.

She was a member of the American Legion Post 488 Auxiliary in Bradys Bend, a founding member of the Sugarcreek Elementary PTA, a member of the Hilltop Beagle Auxiliary and a member of the Sugarcreek Fire Department Auxiliary.

She is survived by five daughters, Judy E. Drushel and her husband, Gary, of Butler, Mary Lou Brinkley and her husband, John, of Glenshaw, Loretta J. Weitzel and her husband, Terry, of East Brady, Cheryl A. Mervis of Logan, Ohio, and Lori L. Simpson and her husband, Doug, of Queenstown, Pa.; three sisters, Jane Adams and her husband, Robert, of Franklin, Katie Simms of Elyria, Ohio, and Faye Baughman and her husband, Ronald, of Franklin; 12 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ellis F. “Dick” Reitz, who died Dec. 19, 1993; one granddaughter, Amy J. Foust; one great-grandson, Raymond E. Drushel; and one brother.

REITZ — Friends of Estella L. Reitz, who died Thursday, April 26, 2012, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the

Charles B. Buechele Funeral Home, 105 Fourth St., East Brady.Funeral services will be at 9 a.m. Monday at St. Paul’s Community Church with the Rev. Randall Forester officiating.
