Emily E. Marks, 20, of Valencia passed away at 5:30 p.m. Friday at her home.

She was born Aug. 23, 1991, in Butler, to Stuart J. Marks and Denise (Matis) Marks.

Emily was involved with the Canine Companions, the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank and the Western Pennsylvania Humane Society. She was a volunteer for the Democratic Committee. Emily was a student at Butler County Community College, and she was a Catholic.

Emily is survived by her parents, Stuart J. Marks and Denise (Matis) Marks; one brother, Derek Minto of Pittsburgh; one sister, Kelsey Minto of Philadelphia; her maternal grandmother, Millie Matis of Butler; a number of cousins, aunts and uncles; and her boyfriend, Ben Millard of Philadelphia.
