William 'Bill' Hardt Barbary

William “Bill” Hardt Barbary, 92, of Butler passed away at 4:55 a.m. Wednesday at the VNA Inpatient Hospice.

He was born April 2, 1920, in Gibsonia to the late J. Barbary and Ida (Hardt) Barbary.

Mr. Barbary worked at the Butler Shell Shop and then joined the Plumbers Union on May 26, 1947. He worked out of the UA Local 47 Plumbers and Steamfitters.

He was a member of the North Street Christian Church, where he was a deacon. Mr. Barbary was a member of the Hill Top Beagle Club and the St. Jude Golf Club. He enjoyed hunting, golfing, gardening, canning, bird watching and wine making.

Mr. Barbary is survived by his wife of 69 years, Kathryn Janice Barbary, who he married Jan. 22, 1943; one son, William G. Barbary and his wife, Lucille; three grandchildren, Lisa (Barbary) Hopper, Tricia Kradel and her husband, Mark, and William Barbary and his wife, Authmn; four great-grandchildren, Jake and Aliegh Kradel and Lexi and Olivia Hopper.

<B>BARBARY</B> — Friends of William “Bill” Hardt Barbary, who passed away Wednesday, May 9, 2012, will be received at <B>Thompson-Miller Funeral Home</B>, 124 E. North St., Butler, from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday. Funeral services will immediately follow at 8 p.m. with Pastor Robert Huber of North Street Christian Church officiating.In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the VNA Inpatient Hospice, 115 Technology Drive, Butler, PA. 16001.Burial will take place in the Rose Hill Cemetery.Online condolences can be given at www.thompson-miller.com.
