Janet Knoll Hovis
Janet Evelyn Knoll Hovis, 93, formerly of Meadville, died Sunday at The Caring Place, Franklin.
She was born Sept. 24, 1918, in Butler, a daughter of Charles A. and Clare Hohn Knoll, who are deceased. She married Dale L. Hovis, who preceded her in death on Dec. 7, 1977.
Janet was a 1937 graduate of Karns City High School. She and her husband moved from Butler to Meadville in 1943 and she was employed at G.C. Murphy Company as a sales clerk for many years.
She was a member of St. Agatha Roman Catholic Church. She enjoyed music, square dancing, embroidery, sewing, canning and bowling.
Her survivors include a daughter, Audrey Davis and her husband Al of Franklin; two sons, Ronald Hovis of Saegertown and Gary Hovis and his wife, Tina, of Magnolia, Texas; a sister-in-law, Evelyn Knoll of Georgia; a brother-in-law, William Rosenberry and his wife, Marge, of Georgia; three step-grandchildren; three step-great-grandchildren; nine nieces and two nephews.
She was preceded in death by three sisters, Helen Evans Hilderbrand, Geraldine Kifer and Ruth Rosenberry and a brother, Alvin Knoll Sr.
<B>HOVIS</B> — Friends of Janet Evelyn Knoll Hovis, who died Sunday, May 13, 2012, will be received Wednesday from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at the <B>ROBERT W. WAID FUNERAL HOME</B>, 581 Chestnut St., Meadville.
