Elmer Stanley Bechtel Jr.

Elmer Stanley Bechtel Jr., 62, of Farmville, N.C., died Saturday at his home.

Mr. Bechtel was a member of the St. Elizabeth Catholic Church and was a member of the United Steel Workers Association.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer Bechtel Sr. and Doris Winters Bechtel; sisters, Judy Shreve and Ruth Ann Burgdorfer; and brother, Bill Bechtel.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Rodgers Bechtel of Farmville, N.C.; daughter, Merrie Angelica “Angel” Blum and her husband, Barry, of West Sunbury; sons, Anthony Bechtel of Farmville, N.C., and Adam Bechtel and his wife, Kendra, of Butler; sisters, Mr. and Mrs. Michael (Joyce) Lanpher of Castile, N.Y., Mr. and Mrs. Paul (Donna) Card, Mr. and Mrs. Richard (Cindy) Chandlier, Mr. and Mrs. Leroy (Betty) Hurrelbrink and Janet Whitefleet, all of Emlenton; brothers, Mr. and Mrs. James Bechtel (Donna) and Mr. and Mrs. Timothy Bechtel (Mabel), all of Emlenton; brother-in-law, John Shreve; and grandchildren, Alyssa, Isaac and Ivan Blum and Lily and Jacob Hillard.

BECHTEL — The family of Elmer Stanley Bechtel Jr., who died Saturday, May 19, 2012, will receive friends at the Farmville Funeral Home, 4226 E. Church St., Farmville, N.C., from 6 to 8 p.m. today.A funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Church Street Chapel of Farmville Funeral Home.
