Walter P. Wendereusz
Walter P. Wendereusz, 86, of Natrona Heights passed away Monday at Highlands Center, Brackenridge.
He was born Feb. 2, 1926, in Harrison Township, the son of the late Jozef and Helena Taraszewski Wendereusz.
Walter was a veteran of World War II serving in the U.S. Army 88th Infantry Division.
He retired after 45 years of service as a windshield inspector for PPG Industries in Creighton.
Walter was a life member of VFW Post 894 in Natrona Heights and a life member of the American Legion Post 48 in Natrona.
In 1949 he built a family camp in West Hickory, where he enjoyed many summers with family and friends. He also enjoyed fishing, crossword puzzles, cooking at camp and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Walter is survived by his wife of 64 years, Nancy Hughes Wendereusz; his children, Marlene (Darwin) Stivenson of Buffalo Township, Larry (Peggy) Wendereusz of Evans City, Vickie Clark of Cheswick and Penny Mell of Tarentum; eight grandchildren, Carl (Lisa) Stivenson, Larry (Tricia) Wendereusz Jr., Shawn (Erin) Stivenson, Nanet (Shawn) Edge, Michael (Lynn) Wendereusz, Helena (John) Passarelli, Gary (Debbie) Mell II and Doug Clark; two step- grandchildren; eight great- grandchildren; and five step-great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Stanley, John, Casimir and Henry Wendereusz; his sister, Mary Sokalski; and his son-in-law, Gary Mell.

Wendereusz, who passed away Monday, May 21, 2012, will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday in the Cicholski-Zidek Funeral Home, 1522 Carlisle St., Natrona Heights, 724-224-8688, where funeral ceremonies will be held at 11 a.m. Friday.
