Lindsey signed with the Steelers as an undrafted free agent after a stellar career with the Panthers.
NEW YORK — The NHL salary cap is going up, allowing teams to spend about $6 million more on players this season.Before opening labor talks, the league and the NHL Players’ Association announced the cap has been set at $70.2 million. That’s a significant jump from last year’s cap of $64.3 million, and continues the trend of increases since the cap system was established in 2005.
LEESBURG, Va. — Slippery Rock University senior football players Austin Fedell and Jeff Thompson recently received Preseason All-America honors from Beyond Sports Network.Fedell, a 6-foot-2, 300-pound center from Wexford and North Allegheny High School grad was named to the third team, while Thompson, a 6-2, 240-pound defensive lineman from Clairton, earned honorable-mention status.Fedell keyed an offensive line that allowed The Rock to average 29 points per game last season. Thompson tallied 60 total tackles, including 15 tackles for loss and four sacks.
