Meals

Lois K. Meals, 75, of Volant, Plaingrove Township, Lawrence County, passed away Wednesday at her home.

She was born in Harlansburg, Scott Township, Lawrence County, on Jan. 26, 1937, to David Samuel Kamerer and Alta L. Thompson Kamerer.

She married Kenneth Ellwood Meals on Nov. 11, 1960.

She was a homemaker and mother who enjoyed her children and grandchildren. She was a member of the Hillcrest Presbyterian Church in Volant and very involved in many activities and committees there. She also enjoyed square dancing, gardening, card club and camping. She graduated from East Lawrence High School 1954.

Surviving are her husband, Kenneth E. Meals of Volant; three sons, Steven J. (Elaine) Meals of North Lima, Ohio, Alan K. (Shana) Meals of New Castle and Gary D. (Beth) Meals of Grove City; two daughters, Cheryl L. (Mike) Yute of Grove City and Marie A. (Mark) Canon of West Middlesex; her mother, Alta L. Thompson Kamerer of New Castle; one sister, Marilyn J. McBride of Valrico, Fla.; and one brother, David H. Kamerer and his companion, Patty Hall, of Southington, Ohio. Also surviving are 15 grandchildren, Emily, Elizabeth and Jonathan Meals; Ben and Sarah Yute; Denning, Colton and Dalainey Meals; Trent, Moriah, Levi, Josie and Elena Canon; and Dalton and Collin Meals.

She was preceded in death by her father.

MEALS — The funeral service for Lois K. Meals, who died Wednesday, June 6, 2012, will be at the Hillcrest Presbyterian Church, 5114 Perry Highway, Volant, at 11 a.m. Saturday with Pastor Steven Tipton of the Hillcrest Presbyterian Church officiating. Visitation will be at SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 1778 Perry Highway, Volant, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. Friday. Interment will be in North Plaingrove Cemetery, Plaingrove Township, Lawrence County.
