Dingbats closes its doors in Butler
BUTLER TWP — After 15 years, the restaurant at the top of North Main Street hill is going from a chain on its way out to one on its way up.
Dingbats opened in 1997, a part of a small Pittsburgh restaurant chain owned by Joe DeMartino. Only the Fox Chapel restaurant remains open.
The Butler Township restaurant’s equipment and decor was auctioned off Monday, making way for a new Rachel’s Roadhouse, which is owned by the Springfield Group Restaurants in Mercer.
There is another Rachel’s on Route 19 in Mercer County, which serves American bistro cuisine.
Springfield Group owners declined to comment on any details about their new restaurant.
