Leatrice S. Totin, 83, of Middlesex Township, Valencia, died Monday afternoon in the comfort of her home.

Born in Uniontown on April 18, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Andrew and Anna Yarris Slater.

A homemaker, Leatrice had been a lab technician at St. Francis Hospital in Pittsburgh and had worked with her husband, Edward, at his private physical therapy practice in Butler.

She was a member of the St. Andrew Byzantine Catholic Church on Logan Road in Gibsonia.

She was the loving wife of Edward A. Totin Sr., who she married on Oct. 21, 1950; beloved mother of Edward Totin Jr. and his wife, Rose, of Middlesex Township, Andrea Totin-Lavorde, M.D., and her husband, Randall, of New Zealand, Mary E. deBeus, Ph.D., and her husband, Roger, of Arden, N.C., Pamela Althardt and her husband, Kevin, of Greensburg, Leatrice Totin-Krivyanski and her husband, Michael, of Allison Park and Anne Totin of Beechview; 11 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and three brothers, Edward Slater and his wife, Marilyn, of Phoenix, Ariz., Edmund Slater and his wife, Dorothy, of Uniontown and Andrew Slater and his wife, Barbara, of Wisconsin. Also surviving are her nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Gladys Samonte.

TOTIN — Friends of Leatrice S. Totin, who died Monday, June 25, 2012, will be received at McDonald-Aeberli Funeral Home, 238 Crowe Ave., Mars, from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday.

A funeral Mass at the St. Andrew the Apostle Byzantine Catholic Church, 235 Logan Road, Gibsonia, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday with Abbott Leo R. Schlosser of the Holy Trinity Monastery officiating. The burial will be in Mars Cemetery, Adams Township.

Donations in her memory may be made to the Pancreatic Cancer Society or to the St. Andrew the Apostle Byzantine Catholic Church.
