ARLINGTON, Texas — The surprising Chicago White Sox have made a move to stay on top of the AL Central, acquiring left-hander Francisco Liriano from division rival Minnesota Twins on Saturday.The Twins will receive infielder Eduardo Escobar and lefty prospect Pedro Hernandez.

HOUSTON — The going-young Houston Astros traded third baseman Chris Johnson to the Arizona Diamondbacks for two minor leaguers on Sunday.Houston obtained infielder Bobby Borchering and outfielder Marc Krauss in the trade, Houston's fifth this month. After opening the season with a payroll of about $61 million, the Astros have jettisoned veterans earning a combined $49 million. Jed Lowie, at $1.15 million, is Houston's highest-paid player.

HOUSTON — Houston Texans receiver Andre Johnson has left practice with a pulled groin muscle.Coach Gary Kubiak says Johnson's injury appears minor, but it may still force Johnson to miss “a few” practices.
