CRANBERRY TWP — Treesdale Golf Club professional Joe Boros claimed first place at the 2012 Cranberry Highlands Open on Monday.

Boros shot a five-under-par 65 (32-33), finishing one stroke ahead of three golfers — Gene Walter, Patrick Greer and Cranberry Highlands’ Jody Barrett.

Boros won the Tri-State PGA Professional Championship last week.

LONDON — Twitter has suspended the account of a Los Angeles-based reporter for a British newspaper who included the email address of the NBC Olympics president and asked his followers to write him to complain about the network's coverage.Guy Adams, a correspondent for The Independent, was upset with the network's decision to broadcast the opening ceremony on tape delay when he sent his critical tweet Friday afternoon.“The man responsible for NBC pretending the Olympics haven't started yet is Gary Zenkel. Tell him what u think!” it read, before going on to provide his corporate email listing.

LONDON — A teenager has been arrested on suspicion of posting malicious Twitter messages directed at British Olympic diver Tom Daley, U.K. police said Tuesday.Daley's father died of brain cancer a year ago and the 18-year-old Olympian had hoped to win a medal “for myself and my dad.” But he finished fourth on Monday, out of medal contention, in the 10-meter synchronized platform competition with teammate Pete Waterfield.Afterward, Daley tweeted a message complaining about some of the tweets sent to him by “idiots.”He cited one tweet that read: “You let your dad down i hope you know that.”

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. — NASCAR has approved all four automakers' redesigned Sprint Cup Series cars for next season.Series officials announced Monday that the new Chevrolet SS, Dodge Charger, Ford Fusion and Toyota Camry designs have met the necessary targets for approval based on final aerodynamic tests July 18. Manufacturers can begin making parts and pieces for the new models, which will make their racing debut at Daytona International Speedway next February.
