Dolores A. Haughey
Dolores A. “Dolly” Haughey, 70, of Butler died early Wednesday morning at Butler Memorial Hospital.
Born May 3, 1942, in Butler, she was a daughter of the late John H. and Rose Marie (Schaffer) Zavacky.
Dolly was a Butler High School graduate and worked as a secretary at Butler County Community College until she retired in 2000 after 23 years.
Dolly was a member of St. Fidelis Roman Catholic Church in Meridian and the Christian Women’s Guild of St. Fidelis and participated in Silver Sneakers swimming classes at the Butler County Family YMCA.
She enjoyed traveling to Europe, genealogy, collecting Hummels, baking and especially spending time with grandchildren.
Surviving are her husband, Gregory P. Haughey, who she married Nov. 17, 1962; her six children, Paul Haughey of Butler; Mary (James) Miller of Butler; Joanne Bevan of Erie; Barbara (Michael) Mahoney of Roswell, Ga.; John (Janine) Haughey of Butler; and James (Lori) Haughey of Butler.
She also is survived by 10 grandchildren, Andrew, Ryan, C.J. and Hannah Miller; Michael and Jenna Bevan; Jack and Kayla Mahoney; and Elizabeth and Abigail Haughey.
Three sisters who survive are Rose Marie Green of Evans City, Christina Green of Carlisle, Pa., and Barbara Nickleach of Butler.
HAUGHEY — Friends of Dolores A. “Dolly” Haughey, who died Wednesday, July 4, 2012, will be received at the GEIBEL FUNERAL HOME, 201 E. Cunningham St., Butler, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Fidelis Roman Catholic Church, 125 Buttercup Road, Meridian. The Rev. George Palick will officiate.
