J. Leonard Deener
J. Leonard Deener, 82, of Zelienople passed away Saturday at UPMC Passavant Hospital in McCandless Township.
Born April 11, 1930, in Pittsburgh, he was the son of the late Russell M. and Josephine R. (Main) Deener.
Mr. Deener proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was a real estate agent for Coldwell Banker and was a member of the Westminster United Presbyterian Church in Evans City, the Cranberry Elks and Zelienople American Legion Post 474.
He is survived by his wife of 11 years, Texanna (Ketterer) Deener, who he married on July 14, 2001; his four loving daughters, Cheri Deener-Kohan and her husband, Jonathan, of Evans City, Teri Braund of New Brighton, Becky McElhinny and her husband, Zeno, of Evans City and Marcy Evans and her husband, Doug, of Zelienople; his sister, Bonnie McCormick and her husband, Fred; seven grandchildren, Rachel Tabone and her husband, Gene, Matthew Braund and his fiancée, Jamie, Eric and Scott McElhinny, and Jim, Michael and Emily Evans; and two great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Jean A. (Zehner) Deener who he married Oct. 5, 1953, and who passed away on Oct. 26, 1990; and his brother, Dr. David Deener.
DEENER — J. Leonard Deener passed away on Saturday, July 14, 2012. The Deener family will welcome friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the Boylan Funeral Home, 324 E. Grandview Ave., Zelienople.Funeral services will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home with the Rev. Peter C.
