Thelma M. Fleeger
Thelma M. Fleeger, 93, of Butler passed away at 10:55 p.m. Tuesday at her home.
She was born March 21, 1919, in Butler, the daughter of the late John Dunlap Wise and the late Sylvia (McCandless) Wise.
Thelma was a member of the Unionville United Presbyterian Church, a charter member of the church guild and superintendent of Sunday school classes. She also was a member of the Unionville Grange, the state grange, the Butler County Grange, and the Pomona and National Grange, where she was Pomona Granger of the Year.
She enjoyed sewing and quilting and was the supervisor of the quilting building at the Butler Farm Show. She also was a judge of elections for many years. She was a century farmer and had worked at the former Parks Products in Valencia.
Surviving are her three daughters, Judy Sutton of Butler, Karen (R. Donald) McAfee of Butler and Joan Fleeger of Butler; five sons, Richard (Janet) Fleeger of Butler, Rodney (Helen) Fleeger of West Sunbury, Eugene Fleeger of Butler, James Fleeger of Butler and Larry (Patricia) Fleeger of Butler; three sisters, Jean (Charles) Brown of Butler, Martha Weitzel of Butler and Hazel Endlish of Chicora; and a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Lynn Fleeger, who died Feb. 18, 1984; a son, John “Jack” Fleeger; one sister; and one brother.
FLEEGER — Friends of Thelma M. Fleeger, who passed away Tuesday, July 24, 2012, will be received at Young Funeral Home, 127 W. Jefferson St., Butler, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday.Services will be at the Unionville Presbyterian Church, 1114 Sunset Drive, Butler, at 11 a.m. Saturday with the Rev. Matthew Kail officiating.
