Target worker charged with stealing $6,400
BUTLER TWP — A Target employee is charged with stealing more than $6,400 from the store in Butler Commons.
Police allege that Elizabeth Schnitski, 21, of Franklin Township created fraudulent refunds and credits between July 11 and Aug. 6. She used another employee’s ID number to execute several of the refunds.
Target Asset Protection and township police confronted Schnitski Aug. 20 about the thefts.
“She admitted everything,” said township Detective Sgt. Nathan Teslik.
Schnitski, who has no prior criminal record, is charged with theft by deception and identity theft. She no longer is employed at the store.
She was arraigned by District Judge Kevin O’Donnell and released on her own recognizance. A preliminary hearing is set for Sept. 20.
