Fred J. Augustine III

Fred J. Augustine III, 72, of Penn Township died peacefully at his home Tuesday afternoon after a long illness.

Born in Middlesex Township Oct. 26, 1939, he was the son of the late Fred and Estella LeFever Augustine.

Fred retired after 45 years as an iron worker for Union Local 3 in Pittsburgh.

He loved the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing at his camp home in Tionesta after he retired. He was a life member of the West View Sportsman's Club.

He will be deeply missed by his devoted wife of 50 years, Barbara Pittman Augustine, who he married on Aug. 25, 1961.

He was the father of Diane Seybert (Richard) of Saxonburg, Edward Augustine (Joyce) of Fenelton and Fred “John” Augustine (Christi) of Valencia; grandfather of Allen Seybert (Kayla), Erika Mohn, Jacob, Sara, Eddie and Tunch Augustine; and great-grandfather of Erik Seybert. Also surviving are his three sisters, Alice Bajcz of Saxonburg, Carol Gray (Larry) of Melbourne, Fla., and Debbi Kenney (Rich) of Valencia; a brother, Donald “Sonny” Augustine (Flo) of Butler; and many nieces and nephews.

AUGUSTINE — Friends of Fred J. Augustine III, who died Tuesday, July 31, 2012, will be received at the McDonald-Aeberli Funeral Home, 238 Crowe Ave., Mars, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday.
