Bystander hurt in bar fight

Two men face criminal charges in connection with a bar fight Saturday night that left an innocent elderly patron injured with a head wound, Butler police said.

The victim, 80-year-old Michael Musick of Butler, was seated on a stool at My Buddies Place on Pillow Street about 10:05 p.m. when he was apparently inadvertently knocked to the floor by the combatants.

Musick’s head hit the floor, according to a police report. He was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital, and his condition was not known this morning.

Police were called to the bar for the reported fight between John Locke, 51, of Butler and John J. Jackson, 35, no known address.

Officers found Locke there as well as Musick, who was on the floor and “semi-conscious,” police said.

A short time later, police found Jackson walking on Third Avenue,

Both suspects admitted to fighting the other. Each man is charged with simple assault and disorderly conduct.

Police said Jackson was placed in the Butler County Prison on an unrelated warrant.
